Mark Porto is a strategic, multidisciplinary executive with strengths in both consulting and general operations management. Mark has worked across a broad array of industries and global venues.

Although his skill set is vast, his greatest expertise is focused on companies that have a strong operations component. As an ingenious leader, his strengths are combining knowledge and expertise to deliver his best talents and inspiration to corporate clients and their audiences. One of Mark’s first business roles was Associate and Consultant for Booz Allen where he made recommendations for billion-­‐dollar aerospace manufacturer for the worlds newest commercial jet. He was then recruited by a Latin American Operations Group in Buenos Aires to expedite entrance into Chilean management consulting market. Then, having gained formidable knowledge and hands-­‐on working experience, Mark founded a management consulting and technology firm to support underperforming companies in manufacturing, supply chain, overhead and project portfolio issues. Serving as interim executive, clients ranged from subsidiaries of multinational companies in agribusiness, food products, transportation and logistics to industrial and consumer goods manufacturing and distribution. Mark joined AlixPartners in 2004 — a leading global business advisory firm specializing in creating value and restoring performance at every stage of the business life cycle.

Reporting to Boards of Directors, Mark served as Advisor, Consultant, Interim Leader, focused on implementing an all-­‐encompassing, cross-­‐disciplinary approach from enterprise improvement and financial advisor to information management and turnaround restructuring. Hired by a PE owner, Mark was tasked to head operations at Bushnell, a global consumer products company and industry leader in high-­‐performance sports optics. Mark designed new business strategy and steered global operations in sourcing, demand planning, purchasing, logistics, distribution, engineering, quality control and customer service that resulted in raising service levels and on-­‐time delivery performance to highest levels in company history while simultaneously lowering working capital.

Currently, Mark is Vice President of Operations at Maui Jim, the third largest luxury sunglass company in the world with 14 international subsidiaries throughout Europe, Asia-­‐Pacific, and North America. He leads global operations in sourcing, demand planning, purchasing, logistics, distribution, ERP systems, data network, telephony, web and mobile.

Mark spearheaded worldwide implementation of SAP/CRM, launched the pilot site in Canada and currently preparing for inauguration in Europe. As Division Officer in The United States Navy, Mark earned the Navy Achievement Medal and served 2 successive tours in the Persian Gulf War achieving the Southwest Asia Service Medal. Mark graduated from Northwestern University, Kellogg School
of Management, with an MBA in International Business and Marketing, Mark was in the exchange program and spent a semester at Wissenschaftliche Hochschule für Unternehmungsführung in Germany. He also has a BS in Computer Science and BA in Mathematics from Duke University.Mark has dual citizenship in the U.S. and Italy; he speaks fluent Spanish and Italian. He is a certified private pilot and enjoys flying whenever he can. Mark lives in central Illinois and is the proud dad of three great kids.
