Dave Welch is the Head of Communications and Community Relations for Resignation Media, which owns and operates the popular entertainment website theCHIVE.com. His primary role is to activate one of the most engaged audiences on the Internet to “party with a purpose.” During his tenure, he has helped theCHIVE’s audience raise over $15 million for charity through both online and offline activations.
In 2013, Welch founded Chive Nation – an interconnected network of 200 regional fan groups (known as Chive Chapters) that support and strengthen all of Resignation Media’s verticals. Since that foundation, his work has included: the inaugural CHIVE-K Virtual 5K Race with Ed Norton and Crowdrise that raised over $125,000 for theCHIVE’s charity branch; a social campaign to grant one dying veteran’s final wish; and the activation of a special campaign with Chive Chapters, Sacha Baron Cohen and Sony.
Previously, Welch was a Senior Publicist for NBCUniversal’s G4TV Network, executing publicity campaigns for American Ninja Warrior, Attack of the Show! and live coverage of E3 as well as Comic Con. He began his career in New York City at the entertainment PR agency BHI, handling accounts including 20th Century Fox, Nickelodeon, Pokemon and SEGA.
